Latia Trotter

As a therapist, I’m passionate about supporting women through life’s transitions. I specialize in postpartum depression, anxiety, maternal mental health, and the emotional challenges of pregnancy, motherhood, and midlife changes. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can feel supported, reconnect with yourself, and navigate life’s changes with greater confidence.

Meet Latia Trotter,

Supporting women through motherhood, life transitions, healing, and rediscovery.

Welcome! I’m Latia Trotter, Licensed Professional Counselor Resident, and I’m glad you’re considering therapy as a step toward your emotional well-being.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. My experience has allowed me to support individuals across the lifespan, from children experiencing anxiety and emotional challenges to adults navigating major life transitions.

One area of my work that I’m especially passionate about is supporting women and women of color. Motherhood, relationships, career changes, identity, grief, trauma, and the many transitions women experience can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from ourselves. I strive to provide a culturally responsive, compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment.

Areas I Support
  • Postpartum Depression & Anxiety

  • Maternal Mental Health

  • Women’s Mental Health

  • Anxiety & Depression

  • Life Transitions

  • Self-Esteem & Identity

My Approach

Therapy with me is collaborative and centered around you. I believe you already carry strengths and resilience within you, and therapy can help you reconnect with those parts of yourself while developing new tools for the challenges you're facing.

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based approaches to help clients better understand their emotions, recognize patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful change.

Most importantly, I want therapy to be a place where you can show up as yourself.

You Deserve Space for You

Whether you're adjusting to motherhood, struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing relationship difficulties, grieving a loss, navigating a major transition, or simply realizing that you've been taking care of everyone except yourself—you don't have to navigate it alone.

When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy relaxing with a good Netflix show and spending quality time with family and friends. I believe self-care and connection are important parts of emotional wellness, and I encourage my clients to create space for both.

Ready to begin? I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, balance, confidence, and becoming more connected to yourself.
